I read an investigation that switch defense in NCAA is more reliable against shots at the rim, but way less useful against 3PA. Any thoughts whats the reason behind this?
And #2 to this matter (if you don’t mind): why NCAA teams rely on such a complicated scheme for youngsters while usually focusing their playstyles on strengths of star players & transition opportunities? Is that a preparation to a pro bball?
How would you rank this current crop of rookies as compared to previous years? Seems like this one might be the best of recent memory behind only the 2018 class with Luka, Trae, Shai etc.
I feel like a lot of evaluators are very open about their bigger misses, but we rarely talk about our smaller ones. Who is a mid-tier, role player type of prospect that you missed on who changed your process/mindset as a scout? What lessons did you take away from this?
What players do you think will be the best options in late first-early second for a team like Indiana?
